Message from the Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management: Weather Advisory
The National Weather Service is now indicating that the storm that was predicted for Tuesday has weakened and will now arrive on Wednesday. No evacuations from this storm are necessary. The Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management and cooperating emergency response agencies will continue monitor the weather system for changes and will alert the public if the storm gets stronger. Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that Marcial Garcia was sentenced to 35 years in prison and Christian Botello was sentenced to 21 years in prison, after a jury convicted them in October of robbery and false imprisonment by violence or menace with criminal street gang allegations and active participation in the Westside criminal street gang.
In response to a large number of complaints from Santa Barbara County residents living near the riverbed in the unincorporated area of Lompoc, the Sheriff's Office will be strictly enforcing three County Ordinances that prohibit motor vehicles from driving on unimproved public or private property.
On December 12th, two board members from the Orcutt Youth Football League (OYFL) came to the Sheriff's Santa Maria station to file an allegation of embezzlement against the former league president, 35-year-old Tyrome Lamar Lee of Orcutt.
