A Custody Deputy is recovering at home after testing positive for COVID-19. The Custody Deputy is assigned to the Main Jail and last worked on Thursday, March 26, 2020. On Sunday, March 29, 2020, the Custody Deputy's test returned as positive for COVID-19. In a separate and unrelated incident, another Sheriff's Deputy has tested positive for COVID-19 and is recovering at home.

Santa Barbara County District Attorney Joyce E. Dudley announced today that a felony complaint has been filed against Brenden Michael Terry, 20, of Lompoc, California. Mr. Terry is charged with murder in violation of Penal Code Section 187 in connection with the March 25, 2020, shooting death of Sarah Stoffle, 18, of Lompoc, California.
