Message from the Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management: Weather Advisory
The National Weather Service is now indicating that the storm that was predicted for Tuesday has weakened and will now arrive on Wednesday. No evacuations from this storm are necessary. The Santa Barbara County Office of Emergency Management and cooperating emergency response agencies will continue monitor the weather system for changes and will alert the public if the storm gets stronger. On August 7, 2018 at 6:30 am, Sheriff's deputies, along with American Medical Response and Santa Barbara County Fire responded to the 1200 block of N. San Marcos Road for a report of two subjects inside of a vehicle who were possibly unconscious.
Santa Barbara County Registrar of Voters Joe Holland would like to remind eligible candidates that the deadline to file a Declaration of Candidacy is 5 p.m. Friday, August 10. Candidates who have been issued candidate filing paperwork must complete his/her Declaration of Candidacy by 5 p.m. on August 10 in the office of the elections official to be qualified as a candidate.
The County of Santa Barbara announced today that it will transition County services out of the Montecito Center (Center) by August 31. The Center was opened in March as a central location for residents impacted by the Thomas Fire and 1/9 Debris Flow to access support and services.
