After two weeks of physical and mental challenges, 40 local young adults from five different law enforcement agencies graduated today, July 28, 2018, from the Central Coast Law Enforcement Explorer Academy.

On 07/27/2018, at about 11:00 a.m., Sheriff's deputies responded to the 600 block of Roskilde Road in the City of Solvang for a report of a subject making threats with a handgun.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Forensics Unit now has advanced, new equipment to dry and store evidence. Forensic Evidence Drying Cabinets were recently installed at Sheriff's stations in both Santa Barbara and Santa Maria thanks to a donation from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Benevolent Posse.

At approximately 11:50 a.m. today, July 27, 2018, Sheriff's deputies observed a reported stolen Cal Fire pickup truck driving near Augusta St. in Los Alamos. The truck had been recently stolen out of Northern California and was associated with a subsequent theft in Pismo Beach.

Just before 9:00 a.m. this morning, on July 26, 2018, additional human remains were found on the shoreline at Campus Point near UC Santa Barbara. The remains consisted of a femur, fibula and tibia.
