At approximately 12:58am on November 22, 2012 Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Deputies and UCSB Police Officers responded to a report of a fall victim in front of a residence in the 6500 block of Cordoba Road in Isla Vista. Upon arrival, deputies and officers located two injured subjects that appeared to have fallen from an apartment balcony

At approximately 6:00pm on November 20, 2012 residents from the 6500 block of Trigo Road came to the Isla Vista Foot Patrol to report a residential burglary that had just occurred. UCPD Officers from the Foot Patrol station responded to the apartment and set up a perimeter with knowledge the suspects may still be in the area. With the victims' description of the suspects and a review of the on-site surveillance video, officers were able to identify the suspects and ascertain their location in the complex.

At approximately 4:00am on November 18, 2012, Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office Deputies and UCPD Officers responded to a report of a fight involving a man with a knife in front of a business in the 800 block of Embarcadero Del Norte. When deputies arrived they located multiple subjects including a victim with stab wounds, another victim with blunt force trauma to the head and multiple witnesses. All parties reported that they observed an Asian male suspect attack the victims in front of the business. The stabbing victim suffered approximately (6) wounds to his body including his back, wrists and side. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was taken into surgery for life threatening injuries. The other victim with blunt force trauma was treated and released at the scene.

On Saturday, November 17th, at approximately 0112 hours, Santa Barbara Sheriff Deputies on routine patrol responded to a call of multiple gun shots fired in the 6500 block of Sabado Tarde Road in Isla Vista.

A male and female in their early 20's were rescued after getting lost while hiking in the Tunnel Trail / Seven Falls area of Santa Barbara on Veterans Day. One of the hikers suffered an ankle injury, but both were ultimately brought to safety by rescue personnel just before 9pm.

Today, the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors approved private consulting contracts that formally begin the environmental review of the Resource Recovery Project which would increase recycling, provide compost, generate green energy and reduce future greenhouse gas emissions related to the management of the communities' solid waste.
